Full-time | Term-time | £90+ per day | Ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists or SEN professionals

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a full-time teaching assistant role at a specialist primary SEND school in Bury. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates looking to develop their skills and experience in a classroom that supports children with autism, communication differences, and a range of complex learning and sensory needs. The school is easy to access via the tram network, making your commute straightforward from surrounding areas.

About the Role
You will be working in a small, structured autism classroom supporting pupils aged 4–11. The children you’ll be working with often have additional learning needs and may require support with communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing. Some pupils will require personal care, including assistance with toileting or feeding.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and group support for pupils with autism and complex needs

  • Using or supporting communication systems such as PECS, Makaton, or visual schedules

  • Assisting with sensory and emotional regulation activities

  • Supporting routines and transitions throughout the school day

  • Working closely with teachers and therapists to follow individual education and care plans

  • Delivering personal care where required

Role Details
Location: Bury (easy access via tram network)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (term-time only)
Start date: September
Pay: From £90 per day (PAYE)
Contract type: Long-term supply, with potential for a permanent position
