A special needs school in Birmingahm city centre are currently seeking a teaching assistant to start on 8th March. The school cater to students with autism, Down syndrome and complex needs from the ages of 14-19 years. To be successful in the role you must have classroon experience working with SEN children.
As a teaching assistant here you will be supporting the classroom teacher by creating an engaging learning environment and also becoming part of the ‘family’. Working with students with special educational needs is very rewarding as every school day presents a new challenge.
The school are looking for a teaching assistant with:
- A desire to support students with special educational needs
- Provide a proactive and engaging learning environment for the pupils
- Understand the different types of special educational needs (SEMH, Autism, Down syndrome)
- Passionate for supporting children and working on their progress
- Has a proactive personality and is interactive with the pupils

All successful candidates will be required to fund a DBS certification on the update service. This involves a one-off payment of GBP40 followed by yearly fees of GBP13. DBS Certification is an essential for ALL work in childcare settings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
