Teaching Assistant (SEN) Bradford

  • Able to improve pupils’ self-management behaviours, social skills, self-awareness, confidence and skills for learning

An Outstanding special school in Bradford have recently contacted the agency to secure a specialist Teaching Assistant from January 2020. The role will commence from Tuesday 7th January 2020 and will be required on a full time basis (Mon-Fri 8:30am-3:30pm) until July 2020.

The School

Our client is situated in Heaton (BD9) and is easily accessible by car and public transport. The school require a Teaching Assistant who is confident in supporting young people with complex Special Educational Needs, including Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. It is important that you have previous experience supporting young people with additional needs and a sound understanding of implementing Education, Health and Care Plans.

The school provides a tailored curriculum for pupils aged 3-19, and achieved OUTSTANDING status in a recent Ofsted inspection (April 2019). The successful applicant will be joining a committed and supportive team who continue to strive for excellence.

The Role

The school are seeking a Teaching Assistant who will:

  • Work closely with class teachers and support staff to provide excellent levels of support for SEN pupils
  • Develop strong working relationships with both pupils and colleagues
  • Liaise with parents/carers and a team of key staff including nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Education Psychologists to deliver a holistic programme of intervention for pupils
  • Provide assistance with personal care, feeding and administering medication as needed
  • Offer meaningful learning opportunities which foster independence, resilience, social communication, emotional regulation and the development of life skills

Working through Teaching Personnel

This role will be contracted through Teaching Personnel, meaning that any queries relating to pay, HR, vetting etc. will be processed directly through the agency. You will have access to a personal consultant who will work closely with you to negotiate pay rates, working hours and who will support you in finding your ideal role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
