Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Specialist SEN Secondary School

Location: Farnborough (near Basingstoke)
Hours: Full-time
Pay: £13.75 per hour

We are looking for dedicated and approachable Learning Support Assistants to join a supportive specialist SEN school working primarily with secondary-aged pupils. The school supports young people with a range of needs, including autism and learning difficulties, within a structured and nurturing environment designed to help students develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

This role is well suited to individuals who enjoy working with teenagers and young people and want to make a positive impact during a crucial stage of their education. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds, including education, childcare, youth work, care, or support roles.

The Role Includes:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to secondary-aged pupils

• Assisting with differentiated learning activities and practical, skills-based lessons

• Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and positive behaviour

• Encouraging independence, engagement, and social development

• Working closely with teachers and support staff to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

About You:

• An interest in supporting adolescents with special educational needs

• A calm, patient, and adaptable approach

• Experience working with young people, SEN, or in care/support settings is welcomed but not essential

• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
