Learning Support Assistant – Full Time Permanent Position (Immediate Start)

Role Overview

We are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work with students aged 11 to 16 within a specialist alternative provision setting in New Milton.

This is a full-time, permanent position with an immediate start, offering a fantastic long-term opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with SEMH and SEN needs.

Please note: There are 5 vacancies available. This advert will be closed once all positions are filled, so early applications are encouraged.

Working hours: 8.30am to 4pm

Hourly rate: £13.75 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support

  • Support students with SEMH needs in an alternative provision setting

  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement

  • Assist with learning activities and daily routines

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff

 

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months childcare experience, especially supporting children or young people with SEN and SEMH needs

  • A patient, resilient and empathetic approach

  • Ability to commit to a full-time permanent role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
