  • - Are you an experienced teaching assistant looking for an opportunity to work with pupils with SEND?
  • - Do you want access to specialist training such as: Team-Teach?
  • - Do you have an in-depth understanding of how to support and encourage the optimal development of pupils with SEND?

An outstanding Multi Academy trust are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to start from September 2017. Initially, the position will be temporary for the first term September- December; however this could result in a permanent position for the right candidate. The trust runs across 4 sites based in Oldham. Sites cater for individuals between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

Due to the specific needs of the pupils we would be interested in applicants who have a considerable amount of experience supporting children or young people with SEN needs, within the primary or secondary sector. We would also welcome applications from less experienced individuals who can demonstrate a genuine interest in supporting pupils with SENd needs. Ideally the teaching assistant will have experience working within a special needs setting, however this is not essential as long as the teaching assistant has an in-depth understanding of how to cater for pupils with SEND.

The successful candidate will:

• Be an experienced teaching assistant who is committed to supporting and encouraging the development of pupils with SEND needs

• Be committed to ensuring that all pupils with SEND can achieve their optimal potential

• Be able to foster positive working relationships with other staff, pupils, parents and the wider community
