Cover Supervisors – Secondary Schools
Location: South Yorkshire (Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster)
Employer: Teaching Personnel
Contract: Flexible (Full-time/Part-time/Ad-hoc supply)
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience and placement)
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner)

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of Secondary Schools in South Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with experience working with young people to gain hands-on experience in the classroom.

The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-set lessons and supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher

  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure pupils remain engaged with the work provided

  • Provide support to students as needed and liaise with teaching staff

  • Report back to staff on behaviour and progress

We’re Looking For:

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • Confidence working with secondary-aged students (11–16)

  • Flexibility, reliability, and a positive attitude

  • Experience working in schools or with young people is desirable but not essential

  • A degree or Level 3 qualification is advantageous, but not required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
