Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work at a PMLD school based near Bury St Edmunds. The successful candidate will be working with students who have profound and multiple learning difficulties and will be responsible for supporting the class teacher in delivering a high-quality education to our students.

Any candidates with a strong knowledge of the care sector or who have experience as a support worker are encouraged to apply for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with their learning and development, including providing one-to-one support and small group work
  • Helping to maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment
  • Working closely with the class teacher and other members of staff to ensure that all students are making progress
  • Supporting students with their personal care and other needs as required
  • Participating in training and professional development opportunities

Key Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of child development and the needs of students with PMLD
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A flexible and positive attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
