SEN and Genereal Teaching Assistant, Leeds

Role

Teaching Personnel are looking for a General Teaching Assistant with elements of SEN 121 Support starting as soon as possible. The school is located in Leeds, LS7 (Chapel Allerton) just 15 minutes away from the Leeds City Centre. Public transport route are also easily accessible to the school. The role will involve supporting a Year 5 class as well as supporting a child with Autism on a 121 basis for half of the week. The hours will be 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday and will involve lunch-time duty on a casual basis.

Ideal candidate

The school are looking for a:

  • Qualified Teaching Assistant (NVQ, CACHE or an Educational Based Degree)
  • The candidate must have recent experience working with children in an educational environment
  • The candidate must be available for full-time work
  • The candidate must have reference details from their last two employers

The school received 'Good' at its last Ofsted in 2017 and are on their way to achieve 'Outstanding' in their next Ofsted. The school is located in Leeds (Chapel Allerton) with accessible and direct bus routes from the Leeds City Centre / Bus Station. The school currently have 367 pupils on role for the new academic year and have a number of pupils on roll who speak English as an Additional Language.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
