Secondary School Cover Supervisor – Full-Time – Stockport

Location: Stockport
Position: Cover Supervisor
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Pay: Competitive, based on experience and responsibilities

We are working in partnership with a vibrant secondary school in Stockport to recruit a dedicated and confident Cover Supervisor for a full-time role starting in September. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with young people in an educational setting who is looking to develop a career in teaching or education support.

Role Overview:

  • Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the class teacher.

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson content and ensure student engagement.

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and in line with school policy.

  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and classroom behaviour.

  • Support with general classroom duties or teaching assistant responsibilities when not covering lessons.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working in a school setting (as a TA, HLTA, or Cover Supervisor).

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

  • A positive and professional attitude.

  • A desire to progress into teaching or a related educational career.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
