Teaching Personnel is delighted to be recruiting an experienced High Level Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting that supports children and young people with a wide range of additional learning needs.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an enthusiastic professional who is ready to take on greater responsibility while making a genuine difference to pupils' educational journeys.
The successful applicant will be joining the team from September 2026, although an earlier start may be available.
The Opportunity
Working alongside teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team, you'll provide high-quality classroom support while leading learning activities, delivering targeted interventions and helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.
You will confidently cover lessons when required, adapt resources to suit individual learning styles, monitor pupil progress and contribute towards personalised learning plans.
Building positive relationships with learners will be central to the role, helping to create a safe, engaging and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
This position requires someone who is confident, adaptable and able to use their initiative to support pupils with complex educational needs.
About You
We're looking for a skilled HLTA who has previous experience working within specialist education and is ready to hit the ground running from their first day.
- Have substantial experience supporting pupils with special educational needs.
- Hold HLTA status or possess equivalent experience within education.
- Be confident delivering learning activities independently.
- Demonstrate excellent behaviour management techniques.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, therapists, parents and external professionals.
- Be resilient, patient and passionate about improving outcomes for every learner.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
