Job description

The Opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive specialist setting in Yeovil.

This role involves working with pupils aged 4–18 who have a range of complex needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism (ASD), physical disabilities, and communication challenges.

Pay Rate - £14.50 per hour

The Role

  • Support teaching and learning for pupils with complex SEN on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assist with literacy, numeracy, and communication-based activities
  • Help pupils access the curriculum using ICT and specialist equipment
  • Support behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence skills
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, and daily routines where required
  • Contribute to creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months’ childcare experience
  • Experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable
  • Patient, resilient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
