Job description

Make a Meaningful Difference
An exciting opportunity has become available for a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in the Frome area.

We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible, with both part-time and full-time hours available depending on the needs of the school.

 

About the Setting
This unique provision supports pupils aged 6–19, primarily at secondary level, who have Autism (including Asperger’s) and associated needs.

The environment is carefully structured to provide consistency, stability, and a sense of safety, enabling pupils to build confidence, develop independence, and re-engage positively with education.

The setting prides itself on a holistic approach, supporting both learning and personal development.

 

Your Role

  • Provide tailored support to pupils within the classroom and during daily activities
  • Work closely with teaching staff to help deliver engaging and accessible learning
  • Support students with communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation
  • Encourage independence and positive social interaction
  • Be flexible in supporting across different age groups and needs

 

Pay
£14.50 per hour

 

What We’re Looking For
A minimum of 6 months’ childcare experience is required, ideally supporting children with SEN.

You will need to be patient, resilient, and adaptable, with a genuine interest in supporting young people with autism and additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
