A Sensory Support Service in Stockport supports children and young people who are deaf or have visual impairment and their families from age 0 – 19 years.
The service offers support to pupils, families and settings providing specialist assessment, direct teaching, communication support, advice, resourcing and modification of materials and provision of specialist equipment. Also on offer are a range of extra curricular events, youth club activities, residential trips and parents’ groups.
As a support worker you will play a huge and rewarding role in supporting people with a learning disability to live the lives they choose.
The sensory support worker will work in homes and in early years settings including private and voluntary providers. Schools, maintained and non-maintained, mainstream and special across all key stages and in further education settings.
