Job description
Head of EAL – Secondary School, Bournemouth
Full-Time | Start Date: ASAP
A secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of EAL (English as an Additional Language) to lead their provision and support students for whom English is not their first language. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will:

Lead and manage the EAL department, ensuring high-quality teaching and support for students across the school
-
Develop strategies to help students access the curriculum and achieve their full potential
-
Support and train staff in delivering inclusive teaching practices
-
Monitor student progress and adapt provision to meet individual needs
-
Work closely with families, external agencies, and the wider school community to ensure effective communication and support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
