Working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant is a great way to gain further experience in a secondary school environment before enrolling on a PGCE or similar Teacher Training Programme!

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a number of secondary schools in the Manchester area who are seeking Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their support team for the remainder of the academic year. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant you will be tasked to raise attainment of key students and support pupils on a 1:1 and group basis as you assist them with any additional needs they may have, whether these are learning, SEN, SEMH or behaviour related.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant you will be automatically enrolled on to Teaching Personnel’s Future Teachers Programme, a scheme devised to address the teacher shortage across the United Kingdom, and give future teachers further experience within secondary schools whilst boosting their employability within local schools. Whilst enrolled on the Future Teacher Programme you will have the opportunity to work in a number of schools as you develop your skills as a Teaching Assistant as well as be given extra responsibility and experience what life of a teacher is like as you work alongside the classroom teachers, helping them plan, deliver and mark lessons. You will also be given the opportunity to run your own lessons with pre set lesson plans as you work as a Cover Supervisor when and where the need arises, covering the absence of the regular class teacher.

• Earn up to GBP65 a day whilst you gain further experience in a secondary school setting
