Science teacher required for Tameside Secondary school after a recent internal promotion. This is a full time Science teaching post commencing after Easter initially to the end of the academic year on a supply basis with the potential to continue on a school based contract for September.

The school achieved a Good Ofsted report in all areas in 2015 with senior leadership and management highlighted as a key strength of the school. The post will consist of teaching all Sciences to KS3 with a specialism in Chemistry being preferable. The successful Science teacher will be taking on full responsibilities of planning, marking and student assessment and be expected to make a significant to increase attainment within Science in time for the upcoming exam period.

With over 900 students on roll there are a large percentage of pupils who use English as an additional language due to the multi cultural nature of the area. You will be working within a vibrant Science department that has 5 full time teachers and an experienced Head of Science. Situated in the SK14 post code the school is just off the M67 and has bus and train routes within minutes. The school are achieving near national averages academically with 54% of students achieving at least 5 A*-C grades in their GCSEs.
