Our highly successful Tyne and Wear Secondary branch are looking to appoint Education Recruitment Consultants to join their team. This well-established team based in Newcastle are looking for a new member to help maintain existing business and develop new business in Secondary schools across the region. Whether you are experienced in recruitment or are looking to move into recruitment from a sales/customer service background then we want to hear from you. We would consider graduate applications as well as those from individuals with more experience as we have a couple of roles we are recruiting for.
The roles are to start in November/December, and the hiring managers will be holding interviews over the coming weeks. Due to the geographical locations of the schools you will be working with, the ability to drive and have your own vehicle is essential. We are operating a part time working from home/working from the office schedule (full equipment provided).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a Recruitment Consultant at Teaching Personnel, you’re the vital link between our client schools and candidates. You will join a thriving team covering a specialist Secondary sector and will be responsible for building your candidate pool and school base across the local area.
You will:
- Make a high volume of sales and business development calls to schools across your local area
- Build and develop your own candidate database by sourcing and recruiting quality teachers and support staff and matching them to temporary and permanent job placements
- Have regular meetings with key clients (virtually) to build relationships with key decision makers in schools
- Work to key expectations measures and indicators in line with your personal and team targets
- Maintain good communication and customer service at all times with clients and candidates
- Contribute positively to your team as well as the wider location

What qualities do we look for?
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and an outgoing personality and be educated to degree level. They will also have a passion for education, experience of working in education or with children is beneficial but not essential. Prior sales experience or experience of working in a competitive business driven industry is also beneficial. As working in a sales environment; energy, passion and enthusiasm are qualities that are necessary to ensuring success in the role. Resilience and being able to work in a challenging, fast paced environment is also important.
You will have the opportunity to demonstrate these skills and qualities through your application and then during our interview process should you be shortlisted. The interview process includes a telephone interview, first interview (conducted via video call), psychometric tests and a second interview should you be successful at the first stage.
Our large team based in Newcastle are a social bunch and as well as working hard together, they also enjoy activities outside of work. The atmosphere is fun and competitive with a large number of incentives, competitions being run on a regular basis.
Hours of Work
This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis (42.5 hours per week, 5 days per week).

- Annual salary from GBP20,000 per year to reflect skills and experience plus performance-related commission
