Position: Cover Manager
Location: Northampton
Teaching Personnel are currently working with one of our client schools who have an exciting opportunity from September 2024. They are looking for an enthusiastic Cover Manager to provide effective and efficient arrangements for Cover across the school. They will complete administration for cover and liaise with external agencies, Principals PA and teaching staff. They will lead the Cover Supervisors within school to ensure they provide a high-quality service and be responsible for providing cover when required.
About the school
The school are based centrally to Northampton in NN3, and have been rated a 'Good' school by ofsted, and have a warm, and welcoming environment where anyone would enjoy working. They have an extremely supportive administration/HR team that the succesful candidate would be apart of, with the opportunity to upskill yourself working along highly experienced members of staff.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the cover absence line and emails each morning from 7am
- Liaise with the SLT/Principal/Principals PA regarding long term absence and planned trips/course/medical appointments
- Liaise with Agencies regarding cover support
- Create the daily rota for cover within the school
- Provide daily briefing, lessons details, and class details for supply staff
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting, with a strong understanding of school operations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Depth knowledge of the secondary school curriculum and educational environment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and school management software.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team of cover supervisors and supply teachers.
- Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and efficiently.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
