My client school is a pupil referral unit based in Bury and they are seeking to employ graduates with a degree associated with youth and community work. The Bury PRU caters for young people who have been excluded from mainstream education as a result of displaying challenging behaviours. The overall goal of the PRU is to manage and address the difficulties which lead to the exclusion in an effort to get the young people back into mainstream education.
They are now seeking to employ a number of youth and community studies graduates to work on a short and long term basis within the school as teaching assistants.
The role of a teaching assistant at this Bury PRU will allow the youth and community graduate to build positive relationships with young people. They will also have to handle difficult scenarios in a way which enables the young people to progress and keep engaged.
The ideal teaching assistant for this Bury PRU will have a degree relating to youth and community work. Having a background working with young people is also a necessity for this role. You must also have a confident personality and will not be fazed by behaviours which could be described as ‘challenging’.
The pay rate for this role will be £8.07-£9 per hour depending on experience.
