Year 6 Teacher required in Darwen Primary School

This vacancy has now expired.

Job description

Are you a qualified and experienced KS2 teacher who is looking to work in a GOOD Darwen Primary School?

Do you have experience in upper KS2 working alongside children with challenging behaviour and special educational needs?

This is a position I need to fill as soon as possible so please contact me in the office when you are sure you are suitable and happy to be shortlisted for the position…

The School:

The school is located in a socially deprived area of Darwen, not far from the centre and also from good transport links. It is a larger than average setting, which is currently going through a transition period and expecting to improve dramatically over the next twelve months. The school is definitely challenging in terms of the needs of the children and how they behave generally in class. The school have implemented a number of short term behaviour strategies which have improved particular children and made the role of the general class teaching a lot more manageable. The school do have plans to consistently use a behaviour policy which the children respond to, this will need to be implemented from day one.

The Role:

The role will be to work on a full time basis starting as soon as possible. The position will continue until Christmas 2018 covering a staff absence. There will be the potential to apply for the role in November and be permanently appointed in the new year if you are successful. In this role you will also be expected to undertake the full teaching role; planning, delivering and assessing the children in line with the local framework and the National Curriculum. You will therefore need to hold a strong subject knowledge in all curriculum areas especially in Maths, Reading and Writing. The school have also mentioned that they may be looking for a member of staff who is a specialist in Special Educational Needs, preferably somebody with experience of co-ordinating or leading across school. This is not a necessity to apply or be successful in the role!

The pay and working hours:

The pay for this role will be determined by experience and level of teaching during your time in school. It is expected to fall within the bracket of £90-£115 per day, based on a 6.5 hour working day. To confirm also, this is a full time role to start on Monday next week. The expectation is that the role will continue until Christmas 2018, with the view to applying and being successful for a permanent role in January 2019.

How to apply:

To apply for this role, you must hold Qualified Teacher Status. You must also be experienced in KS2 and be prepared and committed to raising standards in the classroom. The school will also be looking for a practitioner who is happy to mix with the current staffing team and become 'part of the furniture'.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
