Behaviour Support Worker - Greenwich - Full Time

Are you looking for a new learning support assistant position, specialising in support for challenging behaviour?

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a teaching assistant who will enjoy providing 1:1 support for a boy in year 6 who displays challenging behaviour. Perhaps you have youth work experience or other behaviour support experience and are looking for a new challenge?

The role:

• Provide 1:1 support for a boy in year 6 who attends a primary school in North Greenwich
• Provide support for him inside and outside of the classroom, helping him to focus and avoid distractions
• Develop a calm, clear and consistent relationship with him, making expectations clear and managing his behaviour and interaction with other students where necessary throughout the day
• Provide academic support as well as pastoral support - you will be a listening ear for him and be able to offer emotional support as part of your daily routine
• Be a positive role model and help him to see that he can be successful with his education

This role is to start after the Easter holidays as the boy will have just transferred to his new school. You will provide invaluable support in keeping him steady and calm in this new environment. The funding for this role lasts for the rest of the academic year, so you must be available until July 2019 at least. There may be potential to continue into September when he moves to secondary school.
