Job description

Position: Tutor for Students in SEN or have Additional Needs

Are you passionate about helping children achieve their full potential? Do you have experience working with students who have mental health difficulties or additional needs? We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a tutor and make a positive impact on students' lives.

As a tutor, you will have the opportunity to work one-on-one or in small groups, tailoring your teaching to the individual needs of each student. You will have a good understanding of the importance of personalised learning and be able to identify what works best for each student.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1-1 or small group tutoring sessions tailored to the individual or group.
  • Identify areas where students are struggling and adjust the lesson plan accordingly. Also, recognise and develop students' strengths when appropriate.
  • Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and other school professionals to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to lessons.
  • Utilise evidence-based strategies to support student progress and emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications:

  • QTS Qualification.
  • Previous experience working in the SEN sector and with students who have mental health or additional needs. Experience with Autism is also beneficial.
  • Experience teaching core subjects up to GCSE level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive and effective relationships with students.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in making a positive impact on students' lives.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
