Trainee Learning Support Assistant for Secondary Education
Location: Cardiff
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday, Term-Time Only)
Pay: £90 - £100 per day
Start Date: September 1st
We’re looking for enthusiastic, caring, and reliable individuals to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Cardiff as Trainee Learning Support Assistant.

About the Role
As a Trainee Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping students aged 11–18 succeed in their education. You’ll support learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) such as:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- ADHD
- Dyslexia
- Emotional and behavioural difficulties
You will provide:
- One-to-one and small group support
- Assistance during lessons across various subjects
- Encouragement of positive behaviour and inclusion
What We’re Looking For

Essential qualities:
- Passion for working with young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive and positive attitude
- Willingness to complete essential training (fully funded)
- Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check (support provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
