Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Cardiff
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Pay: £89.38 per day
Contract: Full-Time from September 2025 until end of academic year
We’re working with a supportive Secondary School in Cardiff that supports pupils aged 11–16 with a range of behavioural needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and ALN (Additional Learning Needs).
The school is looking for someone confident, reliable, and compassionate to take on a vital behaviour support role.
This position is ideal for anyone with experience in youth work, residential care, or similar backgrounds – or for someone who’s passionate about working with young people who need extra support.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups, both in and out of the classroom
- Helping manage behaviour and encouraging positive routines
- Working closely with teaching staff to keep students engaged and focused
- Supporting social skills, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
- Helping to create a safe, structured environment for learning
About you:
We’re looking for people who are:
- Confident, calm and able to handle challenging situations
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Great with young people and able to build trust and rapport
- Patient, resilient and able to think on their feet
- Keen to learn and take on training
You might come from one of the following backgrounds:
- Youth Work / Behavioural Mentoring / Residential Care
- Learning Support / Teaching Assistant roles
- Sports Coaching / Pastoral Support
- Or simply have a genuine passion for supporting young people facing behavioural challenges

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
