Youth Support Worker
Location: Cardiff
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (School Hours, Term Time Only)
Pay: £89.38 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time | Starting in September
We’re seeking Youth Support Workers to work in a specialist school setting in Cardiff, supporting young people aged 11–16 with challenging behaviour, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs), and ALN (Additional Learning Needs).
This is the perfect opportunity for those with experience in youth work, education, or residential support, or anyone looking to start a fulfilling career in schools.
Job Role Includes:
- 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and ALN
- Supporting teachers with classroom management and engagement strategies
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Helping students build confidence, life skills, and social interaction
- Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
✅ Who We’re Looking For:
We welcome applicants with backgrounds in:
- Teaching Assistant / Learning Support roles
- Youth Work / Residential Care
- Sports Coaching / Mentoring / Volunteer Youth Programmes
- Or simply a passion for working with children and young people

What You Need to Apply:
- Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
- EWC (Education Workforce Council) registration (support provided)

- Ability to travel to and from Cardiff reliably

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
