Secondary Cover Supervisor – Cardiff

Location: Cardiff, South Wales
Pay: Starting from £110 per day

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting Secondary School Cover Supervisors for a number of schools across Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain classroom experience, whether you’re a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), a graduate exploring a teaching career, or someone with a background in coaching, tutoring, or youth leadership.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher, manage student behaviour, and ensure a positive and productive learning environment. Full training is provided, including Behaviour Management modules to help you feel confident in the classroom.

What We’re Looking For:

• Confident and adaptable individuals with strong presence

• Experience in education, sports coaching, youth work, or tutoring

• Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively

• Willingness to work across different subjects and year groups

• A passion for supporting student learning and engagement

• Flexibility and availability on short notice

Subject Specialisms Welcome:
We are especially interested in candidates with subject knowledge in Maths, PE, or Science, as schools often request cover aligned with specialisms.

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

• Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)

• Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (can be provided)

• Able to provide two references from the past 24 months
