Teaching Personnel is recruiting dedicated Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistants to work in a variety of supportive and welcoming secondary schools across the Cardiff area.

Your Role as a Teaching Assistant:
As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) to support pupils with a wide range of additional learning needs. You'll play a key role in both academic and personal development, ensuring every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning needs (ALN)
- Help delivered tailored learning activities and differentiated resources
- Support classroom behaviour and create an inclusive, positive learning environment
- Assist students during lessons, promoting engagement and independence
- Work alongside teachers and external specialists to track and support pupil progress
- Prepare classroom materials and help organise daily activities
- Offer personal care and maintain pupil safety and well-being when needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people (especially those with SEN or ALN) is preferred but not essential
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for helping every child reach their full potential
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications are a bonus but not required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
