Behaviour Support Assistant – Secondary School | Cardiff
Location: Cardiff
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Pay: £89.38 per day

Are you passionate about supporting young people with behavioural or emotional needs? Looking to build your experience in education or youth work? We have an exciting opportunity for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a welcoming, inclusive secondary school in Cardiff.
Role Highlights:
- Full-time, term-time only – work-life balance with weekends and holidays off
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural, emotional or learning needs
- Small class sizes (maximum 10 pupils) with strong staff support
- Help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
- Use proven positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and student engagement

Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary)
- Resilient, patient, and caring personality with excellent teamwork skills
- Experience with SEND, SEMH, or behaviour needs is a bonus
- Team Teach or similar training is a plus (not essential)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – or willing to apply
- EWC registration – support provided if needed
- Able to provide 2 professional references
- Reliable access to Cardiff via car or public transport

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
