Job description

A part time position commencing as soon as possible. A Special Needs Setting in Tameside are currently looking to employ a number of Teaching Assistants who have extensive experience supporting pupils with SLD. The position will commence in Jaunary and run untill the end of the academic. This position will involve being able as and when the Setting require so would be ideal for Teaching Assistants who can be flexible.

This Setting is a small Secondary Special Needs School situated in Tameside. This particular Setting currently has 75 pupils enrolled and provides education for pupils 11- 16 who have a range of needs which may include: complex learning difficulties, Autism and Down syndrome. The pupils who attend this Setting have a wide range of SEN needs so Teaching Assistants who have a knowledge of SEN and experience supporting pupils with SEN would be desirable.

  • Experience working within a special needs setting (highly desirable)
  • An in-depth understanding of the importance of differentiation and assuring that learning is accessible to all pupils
  • A commitment to assuring the optimal development of pupils with complex needs
  • Experience supporting pupils high functioning ASC

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
