Teaching assistant youth worker- Bermondsey

We are looking for a competent teaching assistant to deliver creative 1:1 Literacy , Numeracy and Science sessions for 2 pupils who have special needs and both present with challenging behaviours. This will be delivering 1:1 tailored learning to meet the needs of each student in the form of morning or afternoon sessions. This may take place in libraries, student homes or in one of the schools centres. You must have some SEN or behaviour support experience, be resilient, innovative and have knowledge up to date safeguarding policies.

Staff benefits:

  • £70-£85 daily rate for full time post
  • Full time contract of permanent employment is available after an extended probation period
  • Paid training is offered on school site and induction programme in your first week
  • Work as part of a buzzing and supportive staff team

Minimum Requirements:

  • Has experience of Autism , SEN or behavioural needs as a teaching assistant or youth support worker
  • Must be available for an immediate start during school term time
  • Able to travel to 2 young people in Bermondsey in either their homes, public spaces or in the schools centres
  • Can deliver 1:1 support for individual needs
  • Able to deliver sessions from 8.30am- 3.30pm
  • Degree or equivalent

This will be a great opportunity for anyone who has experience working with young people with special needs and looking to take the next step in their career. You will need plenty of enthusiasm, and the ability to be creative to plan and deliver engaging sessions for hard to reach young people!
