Teaching Assistant, SEND Provision Newbury

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an SEND provision which is seeking a behaviour mentor to work with children in a specialist provision for Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties.

The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with students across Key Stages 1 and 2, the students are vulnerable children in need of extra support and guidance with their literacy, numeracy and science learning as we head towards the examination period.

The main element of the role will be helping the students to engage with their learning, and encouraging personal and social development whilst managing challenging behaviour in lesson time to maximise learning. You will be expected to work collaboratively with other members of staff to manage and track pupil's behaviour and learning.

You will be supporting students who have been unable to remain in their mainstream school, they all display social, emotional and mental health difficulties and may display behaviour such as social anxiety or ADHD as well as aggression.

Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and challenging behaviour. The client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education, youth/social work and counselling. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people and will be confident working with challenging behaviour in Key Stage 1 - 2 pupils.

Teaching Personnel can offer support workers competitive pay rates of £55-£65 per day. This role will commence as soon as possible, working 5 days a week including but not limited to school hours.
