Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking dedicated and passionate SEN and SEMH Teaching Assistants to join our network of schools in Warrington. We are working closely with a range of primary and secondary schools that cater for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working either 1:1 or in small groups to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

• Autism (ASC)

• ADHD

• Social and emotional difficulties

• Behavioural needs

• Speech and language challenges

• Moderate or complex learning difficulties

Your role will involve:

• Supporting learning inside and outside the classroom

• Helping to manage behaviour in a calm and supportive way

• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils

• Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff

• Contributing to pupils’ emotional wellbeing and personal development

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH (school-based or other relevant settings)

• Be calm, patient, and nurturing in your approach

• Be able to build strong and respectful relationships

• Have good communication skills

• Be flexible and reliable

• Hold a DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
