Job description

Teaching Personnel is looking for patient and proactive Behaviour Support Assistants to support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in SEN and SEMH schools starting in September 2025.

About the Role:

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs to manage their behaviour in classroom and social settings

  • Implement individual behaviour support plans under the guidance of teachers and SENCOs

  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to promote emotional regulation and social skills

  • Monitor and report on pupil behaviour and progress

  • Work closely with teaching and support staff to create a safe, supportive learning environment

Who we’re looking for:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs preferred

  • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication and observation skills

  • Ability to follow behaviour management plans and adapt as needed

  • DBS check or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
