Learning Support Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel is recruiting passionate and reliable Learning Support Assistants to start in September 2025 in schools supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
About the Role:
You will provide vital support to children and young people with a range of additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop key skills. Responsibilities include:

Working 1:1 or in small groups to support learning and social development
-
Assisting with behaviour management in a calm, consistent manner
-
Supporting emotional wellbeing and promoting positive relationships
-
Helping pupils develop communication, independence, and life skills
-
Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to deliver tailored support
Who we’re looking for:

Experience working with children with SEN and/or SEMH is essential
-
Patient, compassionate, and able to build trust with pupils
-
Good communication and teamwork skills
-
Flexible and adaptable to different classroom needs and settings
-
A commitment to supporting children’s growth and inclusion
-
DBS check or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
