Job description

Are you enthusiastic about supporting students and want to ensure they receive the best education possible? If so, we are looking for you!

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for teaching assistants in the Bodmin, Wadebridge & Liskeard area to support students in their day-to-day learning.

You will be required to support the students in the class either in small groups or on and one to one basis, this will be helping them with tasks set by the class teacher. You may be required to plan additional work if you are working with the same students often and know their abilities or if a student is particularly struggling with a specific topic. It is important that you have a good understand of the primary curriculum and can confidently support students with their English and maths. We are looking for somebody who can be creative with learning and make it fun and engaging for students.

It is important for you to help the class teacher monitor the students progress by communicating effectively about what levels the students are working at and if there are any topics they are struggling with. This will allow the class teacher to plan their work and be able to communicate with the headteacher, SENCO and parents and carers.

The ideal candidate will

  • Have previous experience working with children in any capacity
  • Be available 2-5 days a week, 8.30am – 3.30pm during term time.
  • Be Organised and have excellent time management skills
  • Have or be willing to apply for a Child Workforce DBS which can be completed during the recruitment process.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
