Teaching Assistant - Ely

Job description

We are looking for teaching assistants to help support and monitor students with special educational needs (SEN) at a brilliant school located in Ely.

Your role will be to act as support in a classroom for students with Social Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The class is made of 6 or less students, so you should feel comfortable providing small group or 1:1 support for students.

Experience working within schools is not necessary for this role. We are looking for somebody who is confident supporting children and can help motivate them to help improve their engagement in learning.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Working with other members of staff to monitor the development of students
  • Ensure that classroom activities are being completed by the students
  • Supporting students when they are not feeling great and helping to engage them back into a lesson
  • Becoming a role model for students to help increase levels of attainment and attendance

Having any of the following could make you a successful applicant for this role:

  • Mental health support experience
  • Youth work experience
  • Corrections officer experience
  • Qualifications/CPD relevant to education or SEN (Team Teach, Autism Awareness, SEN diploma etc.)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
