Science Teacher
Job description
An enthusiastic secondary school located within Portsmouth are wishing to appoint an experienced Science Teacher on a full time, permanent basis.
The successful Teacher will be creative, interactive, and passionate about education. This exciting opportunity is ideal for anyone looking for a long term position within a science department. This role is temporary; however, it is highly likely to become permanent for the right individual.
Requirements for this position are as follows:
- Qualified teacher status
- A proven track record when it comes to delivering high quality Science lessons up to GCSE (KS5 desirable but not essential)
- The ability to work on an intervention basis, both on a small group and individual basis whenever necessary
- The ability to motivate pupils to achieve excellent examination results
- Excellent classroom management skills
- A clear passion for the subject as well as outstanding subject knowledge
Other expectations of this role are as follows:
- Providing Subject Leaders/Heads of Department with regular feedback related to overall student progression
- Creating resources that have been effectively differentiated to meet individual needs
- Being able to successfully display patience and resilience when looking to develop student knowledge, whilst always being on hand to manage any pastoral issues
- Implementing consistent behaviour management policies, making expectations for students as clear as possible
- Setting clear and concise learning objectives/goals, both in the short and long term
To be considered for this position, you must have QTS and experience teaching Science to GCSE Level. Both experienced and newly qualified Science teachers are urged to apply for this position as soon as possible.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
