A secondary school in Stevenage is looking to recruit a SEN teaching assistant to begin with them with in Septemebr 2021. The successful SEN teaching assistant will be assisting within the classroom, working with students that require support on an academic level or in small groups outside the classroom. Any TAs who are experienced in supporting young people with special educational needs such as Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties or ADHD are encouraged to apply as below.
The SEN teaching assistant will benefit from the support of the school as well as Teaching Personnel. There are opportunities to complete professional development courses through our online academy and a highly supportive SEN department at this secondary school. Reporting to the SENCO, the successful SEN TA will be working within a team of support staff with their own timetable to work through and a list of students who have been identified as requiring specific support.
As a successful and confident SEN TA, you should have relevant experience in supporting either in a secondary school setting or with students in an educational environment.

The specific role of a SEN teaching assistant will be to support specific students who have been identified from their educational health care plans with the special educational needs department putting provisions in place to provide the support required to enhance the student’s learning experience. Any experience supporting students on a 1:1 basis who might have moderate learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, dyslexia or social emotional behaviour support will be highly desirable.
This secondary school is situated in Stevenage making it very easy to access from nearby Hertfordshire areas. The school has fantastic facilities and a large on-site SEN provision. The school is located near the local train station and is regularly serviced by buses.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
