About the role
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Cambridge
£100 – £115 per day (PAYE)
Full-time | Term-time only
✨ The Opportunity
Teaching Personnel is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified HLTA to support pupils’ learning, lead small group teaching, and cover whole-class sessions where required.
What You’ll Be Doing

Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classes in the absence of the class teacher.

Provide targeted small group and 1:1 interventions to support pupil progress.

Support the planning and assessment of learning activities alongside the class teacher.

Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where all pupils can succeed.

Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
✅ What We’re Looking For
-
HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience.
-
A solid understanding of the primary curriculum (EYFS, KS1 or KS2).
-
Experience leading whole-class teaching.
-
Strong communication, organisational, and behaviour management skills.
-
A flexible, proactive, and team-focused approach.
-
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
