The Governing Body and Headteacher of a School in Skelmersdale are currently inviting applications for the post of Class Teacher within Key Stage 4.
The post is for a Main Pay Scale Teacher with SEN points (1 or 2 dependent on qualifications and experience).
The start date for the post is 1st January 2020 (or earlier if possible).
The school is a vibrant school and is currently rated as Good by Ofsted. The students all have a statement of special educational needs or an Education Health Care Plan an there are currently 110 students on roll aged between 11 and 19 years. In addition, there are a number of students from local high schools who attend one day a week to access the schools' outreach provision - horticulture and small animals.
The school is organised into four departments:
Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, Post 16, Learning Suite (ASD/complex needs).
The school has achieved recognition in the following areas:
Leading Parent Partnership, National Autistic Society Forest Schools, International Schools
This is a thriving school and as a result of increasing pupils on roll there is a need for an additional class teacher. The post is for a permanent, full-time class teacher, teaching students with generic learning difficulties. Consideration will be given to part-time applications. There is also the potential for off-site learning on a one to one basis for students unable to attend school.
All teachers deliver English and Maths curriculum. Teachers remain with their class predominantly, however on occasions you may be asked to work in different departments, when need dictates. You will be responsible for directing and monitoring support staff in delivering predeveloped learning to individuals/groups of students.
Each class teacher is a subject leader and you will be expected to develop and lead in that subject across school, supporting other teachers in its delivery.
