Teaching personnel are looking for a SEN Teaching assistant to help support the teaching staff to develop and provide quality learning for pupils with special education needs. This will range from a wide variety of physical, emotional and behavioural needs, you will help to encourage pupils to be engaged and interested to make them feel safe and happy in a learning environment.

The school inWest Drayton is a lovely new modern primary who are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support in school by supporting pupils with SEN. They have just opened a few SEN unit within the school so the role is supporting in the unit and or being in different classrooms within the school. The school is a big user so there is generally a lot of roles that come up for the school.

Main roles and responsibilities -

  • Help assist the lead teacher enable each pupil to access their curriculum.
  • Engage with playground activities.
  • Support and encourage the development of pupil’s education.
  • Look after pupils physical, emotional and social welfare.
  • Keep records and attend review meetings.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians.
  • 1:1, 2:1 and 3:1 support.
  • Ensure childrens saftey at all times.

Key skills and requirements -

  • Have experience working with SEN pupils.
  • Friendly and compassionate.
  • Patient.
  • Resilient.
  • Sensitivity and understanding.
  • Understanding SEN needs.
  • Excellent verbal communication.
  • Confident working in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.

Ability to reliable commute/relocate to West Drayton

Job type – permanent, contract basis.

Salary - £20,000 – £24,000 (£80 -£110 per day) depending on experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
