Job description

Are you interested in providing 1-1 tuition? Are you experienced in working with children/young people?

TP Tutors are currently looking to recruit both full-time and part-time Tutors within the Sunderland Area, to provide support to vulnerable children in both English and Maths.

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual who strives to support children either one a 1:1 basis or in small groups to maximise the children’s potential in all areas.The majority of the student we support have varying challenges, our goal is to provide our students with the skills required to succeed later in life.

This role involves:

  • Planning, creating and delivering engaging sessions to children who are currently working below expectations.
  • Assessing pupils, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes and planning next steps.
  • Applying a variety of behavioural strategies to ensure the children are engaged.
  • Being aware of the child’s needs and interests, using this to create a child-centred approach to learning.

Tutor Requirements:

  • Professional Teaching Qualifications are preferred (Qualfiied Teacher Status, QTS)
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce Only DBS on the update service, or willingness to purchase one via TP Tutors (support for obtaining one can be provided)
  • Professional references from your tow most recent employers, totalling 24 months from a 10 year career history.
  • Experience of working with children/young people with SEND, SEMH and other additional needs is preferred.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
