Teaching Personnel are recruiting SEN teaching assistants to work a school that caters for children with severe profound and multiple learning disabilities in the Dunstable area.
This job role is perfect for an enthusiastic, driven and creative candidate with previous experience working with children or young people.
We are looking for several experienced teaching assistants, to support children with Autism, PMLD, complex needs covering through Key Stages 1 to4. Ideally you will have worked in a school setting and have experience of special needs, and ideally have the Team Teach. Have used and understand PECS, basic sign language or Makaton.
As a teaching assistant you will be working frequently on a daily supply basis, with the opportunity to undertake longer term placements which could lead to a permanent role.
These roles would be ideal for any candidate who has experience working with Autism or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Experience of personal care would also be an advantage.
As a teaching assistant you will be supporting children between the ages of 3- 18 years, and will be responsible for encouraging the positive emotional, social and academic development of children. Essential skills include excellent communication / relationship building as well experience of supporting learning.
