SEN specialist Teaching Assistant wanted in West Drayton

• Main School hours are: 8:30 am – 4:00pm

• School specialises in SLD, PMLD, ASC and SEMH

This lovely SEN School based in West Drayton are looking for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants. This school caters for secondary school aged students between 11 and 19 years with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Some of the pupils may also have additional sensory or physical impairments or challenging behaviour. The school aim to provide the best possible education outcomes for our students.

What will I be doing in this role and what will be expected of me?

• You will be supporting a teacher in a class of 6-8 pupils

• You will be in class with two – three additional TAs

• You will be expected to assist in personal care, feeding, moving and handling

• You will be working on a 1:1 and/or 2:1 basis with pupils

• You will be assisting during school break/lunch to supervise pupils

• You will be assisting with filing, photocopying and display making

Am I right for this position? Do you fit the criteria below?

• You MUST have experience in a Special School and/or learning environment

• You MUST have experience supporting children with PMLD, SLD, ASC, and SEMH

• You MUST be comfortable to assist with personal care and feeding

• PECS, Phonics, Makaton, TEACCH training/experience

• Team Teach/Moving and Handling training /experience
