Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Learning Mentors to provide support and assistance to pupils – addressing the needs of learners who require help in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential.
You will be required to work across several school sites, providing support to a range of learners with special educational needs. You will be covering a variety of issues, including punctuality, absence, challenging behaviour and self esteem. You will be working either on a one-to-one basis or with small groups based on the pupils identified as needing support in the above areas. The length of each assignment will vary and will be dependent on the development of the pupil(s) and will be judged on their improvement in selected areas. Essentially this will be determined by the school.
Successful applicants will have experience of working with children in education based or pastoral roles. You will be confident in managing pupil behaviour and be able to independently support pupils, dealing with a wide range of issues. You will be positive and approachable and will be willing to support a multi-disciplinary team of staff to re-engage pupils and support them in achieving personal goals; drawing up agreed action plans with learners, outlining the aims of the mentoring, monitoring and recording their progress as necessary.
To register with Teaching Personnel and apply for the above role, please contact Sarah Franks on 01274 734 571 or alternatively email sarah.franks@teachingpersonnel.com
