Are you a SEMH Teaching assistant looking for a new role within a Secondary school in Manchester?
Teaching Personnel are working alongside a large Secondary school near the Walkden area, looking to recruit an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant for a part-time position starting in September 2019. Our client school have a gap in the support staff, and wish for a passionate, dedicated candidate to join their team.
Working as a SEMH Teaching Assistant in our client school, you can expect:
- Part-time position starting in September 2019, with a possibility of leading to a permanent position
- Dependant on qualifications and experience, between £300 and £325 per week
- Paid weekly in arrears
Working as an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be:
- Working alongside class teachers supporting students aged 11-16 in classes
- Supporting students with several SEMH including disruptive and antisocial behaviour
- Expected to incorporate inventions to aid children who may be disruptive or uncooperative
- Assisting pupils on a 1:1 basis in an attempt to raise progress and attainment
To be considered for this role it is required that you have experience of working with individuals with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs. In particular, our client school would like candidates that are familiar with students that are known to show disruptive and withdrawn behaviour and therefore, require extra support with their studies. With over 800 pupils, the school is in need of extra staff to guarantee these particular students are supported and that teachers also have the help they require in the classroom.
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant within our client school, responsibilities will include working 1:1 with identified pupils that require additional support due to their specific difficulties. Further responsibilities incorporate supporting the class teacher, delivering intervention sessions to suit specific children with SEMH and the possibility of covering pre-planned lessons in the absence of a teacher.
Our client school is based in the Walkden area with access from the M61 and A580 for those applicants with their own transport. For non-drivers, the school can be accessed via several public transport links from Swinton, Bolton and central Manchester.
