SEN Teaching Assistant

Location:

Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Leeds, LS12

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

£85 - £100 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Supporting the teaching staff in delivering tailored educational programmes to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Assisting pupils with learning difficulties or disabilities in their academic and social development
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to help pupils achieve their learning goals
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit the individual needs of students

Education:

Relevant qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

Experience:

Previous experience working with students with Special Educational Needs

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN principles and best practises in education
  • Ability to provide effective learning support to pupils with diverse needs
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Additional training in specific areas of SEN support

Working Conditions:

The role involves working in a school environment, collaborating with teaching staff, pupils, and parents. It may require some flexibility in working hours to accommodate the needs of the children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
