Exciting Opportunity for a Science Teacher in Denton!

Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity? Teaching Personnel is pleased to present a full-time position for a Science Teacher at an Ofsted Good secondary school in Denton. This role is available to start in September for the full academic year, with the potential for permanency based on performance. The salary for this role is £30,000 to £46,525 per annum, in line with PayScale.

Role Overview:

As a Science Teacher, you will play a crucial role in inspiring and educating students across various scientific disciplines, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum, catering to students' diverse learning needs and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons covering key scientific concepts, theories, and practical applications across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Practical Skills: Organise and supervise practical experiments and investigations, enabling students to develop essential scientific skills and understanding.
  • Theory and Knowledge: Teach scientific principles, theories, and terminology, fostering students' critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Behaviour Management: Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment by implementing effective behaviour management strategies that promote respect, engagement, and participation.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department and across the school to share best practices, resources, and ideas for enhancing teaching and learning.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Science.
  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with a passion for inspiring students in all three disciplines.
  • Previous experience teaching Science at the secondary level, preferably within a UK school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Commitment to promoting scientific literacy, curiosity, and a love for learning among students.
