Science Teacher
Job description
Full-time Science teacher required to cover a long term sickness within a ‘Good’ graded secondary school in the area of Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan.
- Full-time Science Teacher – September 2024 start (or sooner if possible)
- Teaching KS3 and GCSE Science– Students aged 11-16
- Pay in line with newly introduced MPS/UPS standards
- School open to applications from teachers of all experience levels
This position is an exciting opportunity to join a secondary school in the heart of Wigan that provides constant support to the teachers within their school. Students within the school build good relationships with their pupils and have a positive attitude to learning.
The incoming Science teacher will take sole responsibility of the planning and marking responsibilities for their students and will have a complete timetable consisting of KS3 and GCSE classes. The classes within school are organised into ability sets so it is important that you are able to stretch the learning of all the pupils and are able to deliver tailored lessons based on their needs.
This secondary school is located in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan. In their most recent Ofsted report they achieved an overall grade of ‘Good’ and are consistently improving. The school is located on the outskirts of Wigan, bordering Warrington which makes for easy access from surrounding areas; St Helens, Salford, Leigh and Chorley.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
